Ochsner Hospital for Children operates a dedicated pediatric emergency department, a 36 bed pediatric unit, 14 bed level I PICU, 50 bed level IV regional referral NICU, and a 12 bed CVICU with in-house intensivists and pediatric hospitalists medicine service. Our team serves a broad geographic area encompassing the entire Gulf South region by leveraging a system of satellite clinics and, extensive telemedicine capabilities, as well as a dedicated, full-time, pediatric transport team providing ground, rotary and fixed wing transports across the entire region. The department of pediatrics is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric residency program, as well as medical students from 2 universities. Interested candidates are expected to join a team of 3 other dedicated CVICU Acute Care Nurse practitioners working in conjunction with the team of Pediatric intensivists, PICU cardiologists and Congenital cardiothoracic surgeons caring for this population of patients. Pediatric cardiac ICU experience is desired.
