This Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant will be responsible for:
Providing care on The BACH team which cares for Adolescent and Adult patients with congenital and acquired heart disease at Boston Children's Hospital and the Brigham and Women's Hospital.
Completing comprehensive medical histories, performing physical examinations, and forming differential diagnoses.
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing.
Prescribing and monitoring medications.
Performing phone triage and management of routine and urgent concerns.
Educating patients regarding their disease and treatment plan.
Participating in team rounds and collaborate with multidisciplinary team to facilitate outpatient visits, hospital admission, discharge planning and longitudinal care management.
Referring patients to other specialists for consultations.
Supporting programmatic research and quality improvement.
Serving as clinical preceptor for PA and APRN students and new staff members.
To qualify, you must have:
MSN and APRN with FNP Certification OR Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
BLS and ACLS certification required upon hire.
2 years acute care pediatric or adult congenital heart experience. 2-5 years preferred.
Excellent analytical, organizational and decision making skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility and ability to work collaboratively.
Ability to travel to satellite locations.
