The Towson University Health Center is accepting applications for a Medical Assistants to assist physicians and other practitioners in the provision of patient care: to provide office laboratory services and other duties such as administering allergy shots and immunizations in an ambulatory urgent care setting. This is a full-time 40 hour per week position.
Assist Medical providers by processing patients for appointments, which entails taking vital signs, taking a health history. Aiding with in-office procedures. Performing 12 lead EKG, administer nebulization treatments, perform ear lavages and other tasks. Administering oral and injectable medications as ordered by the provider. Other tasks and procedures per the request of the provider such as venipuncture, IV therapy initiation, answering patient phone calls, calling in prescriptions, or writing outside referrals.
High School diploma or equivalent and certification as a Medical Assistant required.
Experience with immunization schedules and phlebotomy.
One year of experience in an outpatient/ambulatory Primary Care setting.
IV Therapy Certification.
A Criminal Background Investigation is required for the hired candidate and the results may impact employment.
