FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER, PRIMARY CARE , MIT Medical , to provide direct patient care. Will assess patients' health status through interviews and physical exams and synthesize this clinical information to formulate health status, diagnosis, development of plan of care and treatment, implementation of treatment plan, and evaluation of follow up strategies according to age-specific plans of care; and provide health education, supportive counseling, and clinical outreach to the MIT community in collaboration with other individuals or services at MIT Medical and across the MIT community. Will be expected to maintain your own panel of patients in order to maintain proper continuums of care for those assigned to service areas other than Urgent Care.
REQUIRED : graduation from an accredited family nurse practitioner program; current advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) licensure or PA-C license; current provider card in basic life support (BLS) and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS); PALS provider card; master's degree in nursing; Massachusetts board authorization to practice as an APP; valid prescriptive authority from both the MA DPH-DCP and federal DEA; and experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access). Must be able to summarize and communicate moderately complex information, both verbally and in written formats, to staff, patients, families, and external customers in English; use in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices, and policies in complex and varied situations; collaborate with health care and administrative staff to ensure the patients receive optimal clinical care; and provide a high level of customer service and staff training.
